Our Founders
Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Tokita, founders of the Parnassus Society, are longtime patrons of the arts and dedicated cultural leaders in Orange County, California. Their passion for the arts spans classical and jazz music, contemporary and Eastern art, and beyond. Over the years, the Tokitas have traveled extensively, experiencing and supporting the artistic traditions of many cultures, while also curating an outstanding private collection featuring internationally and locally renowned artists—including more than 150 works by Los Angeles–based painter Ed Moses.
With the support of respected members of the local arts and academic community, the Tokitas established the Parnassus Society to advance cultural life in Orange County and to invest in the next generation of artists. The Society provides performance opportunities, mentorship, and professional development for promising young musicians, while also presenting innovative concerts and collaborations that bring world-class artistry to local audiences. Guided by the Tokitas’ vision, Parnassus has become a vibrant platform where emerging talent and established masters come together, enriching the region’s cultural landscape and ensuring a thriving future for the arts.
